Rajanadgaon: Four youths were arrested today in connection with the rape of a 35-year-old woman in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district, police said.

Two of them -- Devendra Dahariya (21) and Domesh Nayak (19) allegedly raped the woman in Singhola area here late Tuesday evening, additional superintendent of police Sashimohan Singh said.

Alongwith them, police also arrested Domesh's brother-in-law Arvind Nayak (30), and Gowardhan Rao (21) for abetment.

According to the police, Arvind had an affair with the victim. On December 23, Domesh, a native of Gariyaband, and his Raipur-based friends Gowardhan and Devendra came to Rajnandgaon. They met the victim thruogh Arvind.

Devendra allegedly took the woman to an isolated field at Singhola region on a motorcycle on the pretext of an outing.

His two friends met them at the spot.

They drank liquor and Devendra and Domesh raped the woman, the ASP said. Afterwards they tied her hands, chopped her hair and fled after taking Rs 1,700 in cash and a mobile phone from her.

Police traced the accused to Raipur and arrested them today.
