New Delhi: Amid specualtions that the Narendra Modi government is considering a ban on plying of petrol and diesel vehicles in the country, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, today clarified on the matter.

Gadkari refuted such reports of ban on petrol-diesel vehicles and said that the government has no such plans.

"I would like to clearify that govt does not intend to ban petrol & diesel vehicles. We aren't going to do anything like that," ANI quoted Gadkari as saying.

Earlier, reports were that the ministry had received suggestions that petrol-diesel vehicles should be banned and several discussions were held on the same.
