A large number of devotees gathered at the Jagannath Temple in Puri to seek the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra on the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima on Thursday.

The holy atmosphere at Srimandir was filled with chants and devotion as people from across the state came to offer prayers and express gratitude to their spiritual guides.

Following the completion of the Rath Yatra festivities, the deities have now returned to the Ratna Singhasan (bejeweled throne).

On this auspicious day, devotees were delighted to witness the Lord in His majestic form seated on the Ratna Singhasan, marking the first public darshan after the ceremonial return.

Temple authorities ensured smooth darshan arrangements for the thousands who poured into Puri to celebrate Guru Purnima in spiritual fervour.

“On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, we have a very divine darshan of the deities,” said a devotee.

Another devotee said, “I was not expecting to get a glimpse of the deities but I had a good darshan. I am falling short of words to describe my emotion. There was a huge rush inside the temple.”

“I am feeling blessed after the darshan of the deities with my son. I sought blessings for my children and their wellbeing,” another devotee said.
