Mumbai: Yuva Sena leader Aditya Thackeray today met Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan and sought resignation of University of Mumbai Vice Chancellor Dr Rajan Welukar.

Aditya presented the Governor a memorandum listing various problems faced by the students of the University in the last few days.

The Yuva Sena has sought the vice-chancellor`s ouster, demanding that the state government appoint an administrator to handle the affairs of a `collapsing varsity`. The Yuva Sena chief recently met the CM demanding Welukar`s expulsion.

In an apparent reference to reports that Welukar had sought support of Industries Minister Narayan Rane, Aditya said, "does this mean that those supporting Welukar are also backing his misdeeds."
