Several articles recovered from two Maoist dumps in Odisha’s Boudh

The search operation was carried out based on input and a dump was located near Kanpa village. Senior officials informed that the security forces accessed the dumping point, demolished the dump yard with proper sanitation and recovered the Maoist articles.

The security forces are basking in glory following the massive success registered after eliminating 10 Maoists on Friday in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s southernmost district of Sukma.

Recently, the security forces also achieved success by busting two Maoist dumps in Odisha’s Boudh district.

The Maoist dumps were busted following a special operation launched by SOG, DVF and BD squad in Bahabalakhol Reserve Forest area under Manamunda police station limits in Boudh district on Thursday.

The search operation was carried out based on input and a dump was located near Kanpa village. Senior officials informed that the security forces accessed the dumping point, demolished the dump yard with proper sanitation and recovered the Maoist articles.

Later, the team received additional input from a source and proceeded to another location 3 km east of Kuakumuda and excavated the dump with the assistance of the available team, ensuring proper sanitation.

Several Maoist articles including detonators, wires, mobile chargers, walkie-talkies, radio antennae, batteries, grocery items and other literature were recovered from the dumps.

It is not for the first time that the Maoist dumps have been busted by security forces in Odisha.

On August 31, the jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) busted a Maoist dump and seized huge quantities of explosives in Malkangiri. The Maoist dump was hidden beneath rock cavities inside the caves in the Bejangiwada Reserve Forest, near Dayaltungi village under Kalimela police limits.

Similarly, another  Maoist dump was busted by BSF jawans in the month of February in Malkangiri district.
