Educational Qualification
To submit an application for the WHO internship program, applicants must be pursuing a course of study at a university or an equivalent academic institution leading to a formal qualification (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate) in public health, medicine, social sciences, management, administration, communications, or external relations. Individuals who have recently received their qualifications may also apply within six months of having received it. Candidates should have at least three years of full-time university studies at the bachelor's level or equivalent before commencing the internship.
Age Limit
The applicants must be at least twenty years old on the date of application.
Languages
Applicants must be fluent in at least one of the working languages of the assignment office.
Nationality
Applicants must hold a valid passport issued from a WHO Member State.
WHO Global Internship Programme: Application Process
Candidates can apply for the internship program only through the official WHO careers website by using the WHO online recruitment system (Stellis). No other application methods are accepted.
WHO Global Internship Programme: Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed, and candidates will be shortlisted. Those selected for the WHO internship will be contacted by the relevant technical unit for an interview, which may include a written test component.
WHO Global Internship Programme: Internship Duration
The internship lasts for at least six weeks and up to a maximum of 24 weeks, depending on the needs of the WHO technical unit. These weeks must be consecutive.
