7th Pay Commission: With the beginning of the month of November, expectation of a hike in the basic pay of the Central government employees has once again risen. As the Cabinet meeting of the Narendra Modi government is likely to be held later this month, a decision on the same may be taken.
The Central government employees, who are presently getting a minimum pay of Rs 18,000, have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor to 3.68 times. They are presently having a fitment factor of 2.57 times.
If the Modi government consider the central government employees’ demand, their salary will increase by Rs 8000 and it will become Rs 26,000.
However, media reports are also there that it will be difficult for the Centre to take any decision regarding the hike in November due to the current economic situation. But reports are also there that a decision related to the basic hike will definitely be taken before 2020.
Though there is no confirmation as to when the Centre may take the decision, a possible decision before March 2020 is also expected.
Taking into account all these reports, it can only be summed up that nothing can be confirmed as to when the Modi government will come up with the decision to pacify the resentment brewing among the Central government employees.
