While the Central government employees are still waiting for a hike in minimum pay and hope that the Modi government will come up with an announcement in this regard on August 15, the Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP-government in Haryana on Friday announced revision of pay scales as per the 7th Pay Commission for its teaching and non-teaching staff working on different posts in various universities and colleges.

The enhanced emoluments will be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016. It will reportedly put an extra burden of around Rs 230 crore on the government exchequer.
