“It’s not a gift, neither Dussehra nor Diwali. Demand was hike in the minimum pay… While no step has been taken by the Modi government in this regard so far, extension of benefits of LTC scheme is hyped as if it will have a big impact on our financial position,” rued a Central government employee.

The CG employees can get reimbursement of tickets for their visit to the above mentioned places along with paid leaves when availing LTC allowance. However, the employees can also travel to these places in private airline, the release further read.
Earlier, the Central government employees observed September 19 as 'All Indian Protest Day' exerting pressure on the government for a hike in their minimum pay beyond the recommendations of the seventh pay commission.

The CG employee’s, at present, are getting a minimum pay of Rs 18,000 and want Rs 26,000- an increase in the fitment factor by 3.68 times from the existing 2.57 times.
