Superman is one of the most loved and iconic characters of DCU. Hollywood hunk Henry Cavill, who played the character of ‘Superman’ made it iconic with his performance. However, did you know that he had to prove that he was indeed the ‘Superman’ to his nephew’s teachers?
Yes, you read that right! During an interview, Henry shared a charming and humorous story about a time when he had to convince his nephew’s teachers that he wasn’t just any ordinary uncle—he was Superman. The actor, who is best known for playing the iconic superhero in DC’s ‘Man of Steel’ and the subsequent films, recalled a memorable day when his nephew’s teachers had a hard time believing that he was indeed the star of the Superman franchise.
The incident occurred when Cavill was visiting his family and decided to drop by his nephew’s school. According to Cavill, his nephew, who was only around seven years old at the time, was bragging to his friends and teachers that his uncle was Superman. The teachers, of course, found it hard to believe that the famous actor was actually his relative, assuming the young boy might have been exaggerating.
“I remember walking into the school, and his teachers were very skeptical,” Cavill chuckled during the interview. “They didn’t believe him when he said, ‘My uncle is Superman.’ So, I had to prove it to them, in a way,” the actor recalled.
To put the matter to rest, Cavill showed the teachers a few tricks that only the Man of Steel could do. He even shared a selfie with his nephew, wearing a Superman t-shirt, and the teachers were finally convinced.
“It was a fun moment. My nephew was so proud,” Cavill added.
The actor explained that while he doesn’t often get to be a superhero in real life, moments like these remind him of the joy and magic that his role brings to children. “It’s a special thing to be part of something that means so much to them,” Cavill reflected.
For his nephew, that day was undoubtedly unforgettable. After all, not every kid can say their uncle is Superman.
