4 nabbed for rape and murder of 5-year-old girl

Rewari: Police on Thursday claimed to have nabbed four persons in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a five-year-old girl whose body was found from a field near Thathera colony on Wednesday.

The accused were identified as Pradeep, Manish, Kuldeep and Rakesh, SP Pankaj Nain told reporters here.

Pradeep, along with his accomplices, allegedly kidnapped the girl from a function in the colony, and took her to an adjoining field where he allegedly raped her.

Thereafter, Pradeep allegedly strangled her to death and dumped the body which was recovered by police last evening.

Police said all the four youths were natives of Uttarakhand and were working with a contractor in the colony.

The girl's was recovered by the police yesterday from a field near Thathera Colony on Pataudi Road here.

Police said following the report of the girl's post-mortem examination conducted by a board of two doctors of the local civil hospital last evening, rape charge was added to the FIR.
