4 arrested for raping girl in Delhi

New Delhi: A relative was arrested for allegedly raping a Class X student while three others were apprehended for the same offence while she was fleeing after being sexually assaulted, police said on Monday.

The shocking incident took place on April 9 early morning and the arrested have been identified as Hanuman Prasad Mishra (40), the victim`s distant relative, Bijender (24), Vinod Kumar (30) and Parveen (27).

She was first raped allegedly by Mishra at his residence in Vasant Vihar. "She fled from the house after she was raped allegedly by Mishra. The girl escaped from the house in the late hours and took a lift in an Indica Car from NH-8 for Faridabad.

"The driver Bijender along with two other accused persons Vinod and Parveen took her to a lonely place in Dwarka and allegedly raped her," a senior police official said.

On the roadside, they were noticed scuffling by a passerby who informed the police control room. PCR van reached the spot and Bijender was apprehended at the spot and car was also recovered from the spot. His other associates escaped from the spot and were later on arrested.

Mishra allegedly brought the girl to his rented accommodation in Rangpuri on the pretext of getting her some gift from his company. He allegedly raped her in the night.

"Her cousin`s father-in-law brought her from her native place of Sultanpur. He told her that he works in a catering company in airport. He told her that company wants to give a gift and to collect it, a woman member from the family has to be present," the official said.

She did not suspect him as his wife was hospitalised.
