Kakinada: With the arrest of three dreaded criminals, East Godavari police today claimed to have cracked the alleged murder of the branch manager of Central Bank of India.

Pasalapudi Anjaneyulu (49), branch manager of Central Bank of India, Thimmapuram Branch, had been allegedly murdered in the last week of March on the outskirts of T Timmapuram in Tuni mandal of East Godavari district.

East Godavari District SP M Raviprakash told reporters that all the three accused were hardcore criminals.

Accused Sizo Chandran (34), who hails from Kerala, but residing in south Delhi, is the kingpin of the gang, he said.

The other two arrested accused are Sunil Gayendra Gavade, 29, from Betul district in Madhya Pradesh and Banti Abhijit Gangadhar Masram (19) from Nagpur in Maharashtra.

"As many as six special police teams were constituted to track the whereabouts of the accused. After a hectic hunt for two weeks covering four states- Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa, the teams were successful in nabbing the gang in the Srikakulam district borders last night," Raviprakash said.

A gold ring, a laptop, ATM debit cards and credit card, a cellphone, 25 kg ganja, fake driving licence, two daggers, a white car stolen from Madhya Pradesh, was also recovered from them.

The accused had disappeared with the cash robbed of the victim after throwing the body into the fields on the outskirts of T Timmapuram.
