Collector of Vizianagaram Surya Kumari along with 60-70 administrative officials reached Deomali in 15 government vehicles at around 11 am on Sunday.

“There are three keys of Bhitara Ratna Bhandara (inner treasure chamber) and as per the norms Puri Gajapati, district Collector and he himself should keep one key each. However, in 2018, the door of Bhitara Ratna Bhandara didn’t open with any of the keys that the Collector had brought,” said Ratna Bhandara servitor Ganesh Mekapa. 

By next year, the State government has set a target to produce 150 metric tonne of coffee, and it plans to establish plantation in 1,000 hectares. The area of cultivation is slated to go up by and 5,000 hectares in next three years.

Puri district Collector Samarth Verma said all the rituals have been finalised as per the traditions by the pandits, under the personal guidance of Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb. The district as well as the temple administration have extended all their cooperation, he added.
