Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 3 Voting
Voting for the third phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was conducted today. Polling was held in 93 constituencies across as many as 11 states and Union Territories (UTs). Around 17.24 crore voters exercised their franchise today.
The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is being held across the country in seven phases. Polling for the first phase took place on April 19, while voting for the second phase took place on April 26. Today, the third phase of polling was held. The counting of votes is on June 4.

Nearly 65 pc polling in third phase
Nearly 65 per cent voter turnout was recorded on Tuesday in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in 93 constituencies spread over 11 states and Union Territories with stray incidents of violence in West Bengal.
Assam recorded the highest turnout at 81.71 per cent followed by West Bengal at 76.52 per cent and Goa at 75.20 per cent, while Uttar Pradesh witnessed the lowest at 57.34 per cent, with Bihar at 58.18 per cent, Gujarat at 59.51 per cent and Maharashtra at 61.44 per cent doing slightly better, according to the figures from the Election Commission at 12.15 am.
The overall voting percentage was 64.58 per cent. According to the EC, the figures are an "approximate trend" and are likely to rise as data is being collected.

Overall polling at 61.45 per cent
The voter turnout for the phase three polling of General Elections 2024 which commenced on Tuesday simultaneously across 93 seats was 61.45% by 8 PM.
Assam recorded the highest voter turnout of 75.26%, followed by Goa ( 74.27%) and West Bengal (73.93%). The lowest voter turnout was recorded in Maharashtra (54.77%).
With the completion of this third phase voting, polling is now over in 20 states/UTs and 283 PCs. A total of 1331 candidates were in the fray in this phase.

A voter turnout of 54.09 per cent was recorded till 3 pm in nine Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh, where polling is underway in the third phase of the general elections on Tuesday, an election official said.
Of the nine seats, Betul recorded 59.63 per cent voting, Bhind 44.18 per cent, Bhopal 50.16 per cent, Guna 60.16 per cent, Gwalior 49.6 per cent, Morena 48.23 per cent, Rajgarh 63.69 per cent, Sagar 53.08 per cent and Vidisha 59.87 per cent, the official said.

Bengal: 63.11 pc turnout recorded in four LS seats till 3pm
By 3 pm on Tuesday, West Bengal's third phase of general elections recorded a turnout of 63.11% across four Lok Sabha seats. Murshidabad saw the highest participation at 65.40%, followed by Maldaha Dakshin (62.90%), Jangipur (62.57%), and Maldaha Uttar (61.50%). LS elections third phase: Over 39 per cent polling recorded till 1 pm
A voter turnout of over 39 per cent was recorded till 1 pm in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in 93 constituencies spread over 11 states and Union Territories on Tuesday amid sporadic incidents of violence in West Bengal and reports of poll boycott in some villages of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Election Commission, a voting percentage of 39.92 was recorded till 1 PM. The voting which started at 7 am will continue till 6 pm.
Maharashtra witnessed the lowest voting percentage with 31.55 per cent voters exercising their franchise till 1 pm, while West Bengal recorded the highest with 49.27 per cent.
Among other states, Assam recorded 45.88 per cent polling, Bihar 36.69 per cent, Chhattisgarh 46.14 per cent, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu 39.94 per cent, Goa 49.04 per cent, Gujarat 37.83 per cent, Karnataka 31.55 per cent, Madhya Pradesh 44.67 per cent and Uttar Pradesh 38.12 per cent, the EC said.
