The Prime Minister inaugurated the permanent IIM Sambalpur campus in the presence of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw and other BJP leaders.
Hitting out at the Congress, PM Modi said the previous government at Centre used to consider Adivasis as vote bank but the BJP has been continuously working for the last 10 years for the development of tribals.
The Prime Minister also slammed Congress and its allies who had opposed President Droupadi Murmu's candidature and said an 'insult of Droupadi Murmuji was an insult of all Adivasis and also Odisha'.
“BJP govt will keep working towards a vibrant fisheries sector and continue to lay emphasis on improving the lives of fish farmers. We are also working towards ensuring increasing household savings with the provision of Rs 10,000 crore for the rooftop solar scheme in the Budget. We have also extended the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to ASHA & Anganwadi workers. This scheme provides medical care services up to Rs 5 lakh,” said PM Modi in Sambalpur.
Around 40 lakh farmers from Odisha are getting benefitted under PM Kisan. Rs 30,000 sent to each farmer's account by the BJP-led government. But the earlier government procured paddy worth Rs 36,000 crore from Odisha, but our government has procured paddy worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore, said PM Modi in Sambalpur.
Centre will leave no stone unturned for the development of Odisha. The recent Budget guarantees the development of people of all sections. Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, crores of farmers have got direct benefits, including around 40 lakh from Odisha, said the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Odisha has benefited a lot from the policies made by the Central Government in the last 10 years. Odisha is a big beneficiary of the new reforms we have made in the mining sector. Has been the beneficiary. Odisha's income increased 10 times after mining policy change ..."
During the event, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his congratulations to the students and teachers for the new infrastructure, thanking PM Modi for gracing the inauguration.
He expressed optimism that learning at IIM Sambalpur would be an enlightening experience, emphasising the institute's track record in producing outstanding graduates and placements.
Patnaik also praised PM Modi for steering India towards becoming an economic powerhouse and highlighted Odisha's significant role in fostering startup growth.
