The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2019. The candidates who cracked the prelims exam, can download their admit cards from the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in.
The admit card will be available to candidates online till June 30, 2019 while the UPSC Engineering Service Main Exam 2019 will be conducted on June 30, 2019. The exam will be conducted in two shifts- the first shift will begin from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.
No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without a valid admit card.
Steps to download Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2019 admit card:
- Log on to the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in
- Click on 'UPSC Engineering Services (Main) Examination 2019 Admit Card' under ‘What’s New’ section
- Click on ‘Click Here’ link on the page
- You will be redirected to a new page and click on the ‘Download Link’. Once you click the link, you will be redirected to instructions page where you have to press the ‘Yes’ bottom at the end of the page
- A new page will open and you have to choose either 'By Registration Id 'or 'By Roll Number'
- Enter the required details and click on submit
- Download the admit card and keep a printout copy for further reference
On the other hand, many candidates who appeared the Civil Services preliminary Exam (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 2 termed the prelims 2019 exam as the toughest in the past five years. Despite the claims by the students, many CSE experts believe that the cut-off mark will rise this year.
Manoj Jha, a faculty of GS SCORE institute while talking to The Indian Express said, “UPSC exam is unpredictable. It does not follow any trend when it comes to setting question paper. Every year students claim that the exam is difficult; however, it is supposed to be a difficult exam... One can easily expect the cut-off to reach around 105 marks.”
There has been a declining trend in the cut-off mark since 2016. In 2016, the cut-off mark for unreserved category candidates settled at 116 marks out of 200, which declined to 105 in 2017 and 98 marks in 2018. The trend is expected to reverse and the cut-off is likely to rise this year.
This year, over 8 lakh candidates appeared the UPSC prelims exam.
