In a big opportunity for government job aspirants, a vacancy of as many as 97 Block Education Officer (BEO) posts has been announced. Interested and eligible candidates can reportedly apply for the positions till January 9, 2020.
“Applications are invited only through online mode from eligible candidates for the Direct Recruitment for the post of Block Educational Officer in Elementary Education department for the year 2018-2019,” read the official advertisement.

Scale of Pay: Rs 36900-Rs 116600 (Level-18)
Service: Tamil Nadu Elementary Educational Sub-Ordinate Service Rules
Educational Qualification: The candidate should possess minimum general qualification as stated in G.O.Ms.No.182, School Education (G1), Dated 25.07.2007.
Graduate Degree- B.A./B.Sc. with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, History and Geography as Major subjects obtained from a recognized University.
The Candidate should possess the Professional qualification i.e., B.Ed degree obtained from a recognised University... Not having prescribed qualifications, as on the prior date of issue of notification shall not be eligible to apply.
It is to be noted that if a candidate is allowed to appear for the examination it does not imply that the eligibility of the candidate is verified. The eligibility shall be verified by the Board only at the time of Certificate Verification.
Note: All qualifying certificate/equivalent certificates results should have been declared prior to the date of issue of notification.
Moreover, if a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by the candidate is equivalent to, though not the same, as those prescribed for the appointment, the candidate has to produce the subject equivalence government order issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu at the time of Certificate Verification.
The Government Order for equivalence must have been issued before the last date of submission for online application.
Examination: The Online Computer Based Examination will consist of a single paper of 3 hours duration with 150 MCQs. Each question carries one mark.
The marks allotted to the Main Subject, General Knowledge and Education Methodology as per G.O.Ms.No.33, School Education (EE 1(1) Department, Dated.19.02.2019.
General Paper comprising subjects (Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, History, and Geography): 110 Marks
General Knowledge: 10 Marks
Education Methodology: 30 Marks
Total Marks: 150 Marks
