Odisha has taken a major step forward in tourism development with the signing of three significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Thursday. The agreements were signed between the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), and the Light of Buddhism Foundation International.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida said the partnerships would play a key role in preserving Odisha’s heritage while promoting the state’s diverse tourism potential on a global scale.

These MoUs will help Odisha position itself as a world-class destination, offering a mix of heritage, spiritual, and adventure tourism, she remarked.

Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, who was also present, termed the collaboration on Buddhist tourism a ‘historic partnership’ that would enhance Odisha’s place in Asia’s Buddhist tourism circuit.

Officials added that the Odisha government is confident these initiatives will open up new opportunities, strengthening Odisha’s identity as a vibrant hub for cultural, spiritual, and adventure tourism in the years ahead.
