Cuttack Bali Yatra: Plot registration process for stalls begins today; auction system in place
The registration process for allotment of plots at the historic Bali Yatra will commence from today. This year, plots will be allotted through an auction system to ensure transparency and fair distribution, officials said.
Application forms will be available till October 9 at a nominal cost of Rs 100. Interested individuals and organizations can collect and submit the forms at Barabati Palace. A person or institution will be allowed to apply for a maximum of three plots.
For each plot, an initial registration fee of Rs 5,000 has been fixed. In cases where multiple applications are received for the same plot, allotment will be finalized through an open auction.
The much-awaited fair will be held from November 5 to 12, attracting lakhs of visitors from across Odisha and beyond. This year, the event has been formally renamed ‘Historic Bali Yatra Cuttack 2025’, in place of the earlier title, which only read ‘Historic Bali Yatra’.
Bali Yatra, celebrated on the banks of the Mahanadi, commemorates Odisha’s rich maritime history and centuries-old trade links with Southeast Asia. It is not only one of the largest trade fairs of the state but also a grand cultural festival showcasing Odia heritage.
With preparations already underway, authorities are expecting record participation from traders, artisans, and cultural groups, making this year’s Bali Yatra bigger and more vibrant than ever.
