Speculation around the casting of Dhurandhar has been doing the rounds, with rumours suggesting that Nagarjuna may have turned down the role of Rehman Dakait before it eventually went to Akshaye Khanna. However, the Telugu superstar has now firmly dismissed those claims.
Addressing the buzz, Nagarjuna made it clear that he was never approached for the role in the first place. “Absolutely not. I was not offered the role, though I wish I were,” he said, putting an end to the assumption that he had rejected the character.
The clarification comes after online chatter hinted that Nagarjuna had declined the part, paving the way for Akshaye Khanna to step in. With his statement, the actor has made it evident that there was no such offer made to him.
While Dhurandhar, and especially its upcoming sequel, continues to generate interest for its casting and storyline, Nagarjuna’s candid remark has settled the confusion surrounding his alleged involvement in the project.
As of now, Akshaye Khanna remains associated with the film, and there has been no official indication of any casting reshuffle beyond what has already been announced.
