“The First Time I Met Her…”

As Vicky shared, the moment unfolded at a glittering award show, where fate decided to play its own little script. Vicky, busy hosting the evening, and Katrina, dazzling the stage with her performance, were introduced backstage by none other than comedian Sunil Grover - the unexpected link who unknowingly set their love story in motion after working with Katrina in Bharat.

Reminiscing about that moment, Vicky shared, “The first time I met her was at an award show I was hosting. I performed Chikni Chameli with her on stage, and later, when we went backstage, Sunil Grover introduced us. Within five minutes of meeting me, Katrina started giving me a tutorial on how to host a show, even though I had already finished the hosting part. I just had to go back on stage and say goodnight!”

Even as Vicky laughed while recalling the exchange, one thing was clear- Katrina had left quite an impression from the very first encounter.

A Proposal That Went Viral

Their paths crossed again at another award ceremony. This time, destiny decided to add a dash of humour to the mix.

Vicky revealed, “During the second award show, I asked her, ‘Why don’t you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?’ But we weren’t dating then.”

He explained that the proposal was part of a scripted gag in which he had to pose the same question to all the actresses. But little did he know that his cheeky on-stage proposal to Katrina would become the spark that got fans shipping them instantly.
