The truth about the struggle of Vicky Kaushal was revealed by his brother Sunny during the promotion of his recently released movie “Bhangra Paa Le.” Both the brothers began their careers almost at the same time. However, Vicky reached a peak much faster.
Dad Denied Any Help To Us, Says Sunny Kaushal
Vicky Kaushal was pursuing a degree in engineering when he decided to change his career and started working as an assistant director for “Gangs of Wasseypur” with director Anurag Kashyap. Eventually, after doing some short roles in films, he got a big break via “Masaan.” It emerged as the perfect launching pad for Vicky Kaushal who has not looked back since then.
But before venturing into the film world, Vicky and his brother both were sternly told by their father Sham Kaushal who is an action director in the Hindi film world that even though he is a part of the film industry, he does not hold any clout and hence cannot help them. Sham said, “Listen, don't be in the bubble that your father is in the industry so he's going to help you. I am a small technician. I can't do anything; you have to prove your worth.”
Sunny reminisces their earlier days and said that both the brothers had a lot of creative energies which they used to perform on stage. Sunny says that both of them were naturally inclined towards being and performing on the stage and had no interest in being behind the camera. This revelation is all the more important in the view of the current debate on nepotism that is breaking the internet.
