UTV to produce Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi
Mumbai: UTV Motion Pictures, which is producing its first superhero project in Tamil `Mugamoodi`, says the film would be an an action packed entertainer and a treat for kids and families alike.
`Mugamoodi` will be written and directed by acclaimed director Mysskin. The film will star Jiiva of `Ko` fame and Narain of `Anjathey` fame, in lead roles.
"This will be the first ever Tamil movie to be made focusing on extensive martial arts, and promises to be an action packed entertainer and a treat for kids and families alike," UTV Motion Pictures said in a press statement.
The film is based on the theme of the superhero that lies dormant in every one of us. Destiny pushes a love struck young man into a dangerous world of adventure. How he fights the evil incarnate and becomes the saviour of society is what `Mugamoodi` is about.
About the status of the film, UTV Motion Pictures said, "Both actors Jiiva and Narain will undergo special martial arts training with experts flown in from the Shaolin Temple of Martial Arts in China. Hunt for the heroine of the film is underway."
The pre-production on the project is already in progress, including scouting for the appropriate technical team to work on the film and exotic locales overseas to film the songs, they said.
"Consultants from IIT will be designing hi-end gadgets to be used in the movie and the superhero costumes will be created by select teams from NIFT," they added.
The film will be a summer release in 2012.
