London: Irish rock band U2 has honoured Amy Winehouse by dedicating a song to the tragic singer during a recent gig.

The band was playing at the Tcf Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, the day when the `Rehab` hitmaker was found dead at her home in north London.

After hearing the news, the group paid their tribute to Winehouse by performing their 2001 track `Stuck In A Moment You Can`t Get Out Of` for her, reported Contactmusic.

The song was originally written for late Inxs rocker Michael Hutchence, who committed suicide in 1997.

"We wrote this next song for Michael Hutchence, but you will understand tonight if we play it for Amy Winehouse," said frontman Bono.

Meanwhile, Irish pop band `Westlife` also paid tribute to Winehouse`s death by dedicating their Saturday gig at Hamilton Park Race course, England, to the `Back to Black` hitmaker.
