The makers of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond have unveiled the first teaser of the much-anticipated sequel, and it signals a darker, more expansive narrative than the 2023 original.
Moving beyond Kerala, the film widens its lens to focus on Hindu girls from different parts of India who are allegedly targeted through calculated relationships and forced religious conversion. Directed by National Award winner Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film is set for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
A Love Story That Turns Into a Trap
The teaser introduces three young Hindu women — Surekha Nair (Ulka Gupta) from Kerala, Neha Sant (Aishwarya Ojha) from Madhya Pradesh, and Divya Paliwal (Aditi Bhatia) from Rajasthan.
Each has distinct aspirations: becoming an IAS officer, a national-level athlete, and a social media influencer. Their dreams, however, take a terrifying turn after they fall in love with three Muslim men.
As the teaser unfolds, it reveals that these relationships are not driven by love but by manipulation, with an underlying agenda of religious conversion. What begins as trust and emotional vulnerability soon spirals into control, entrapment, and loss of identity. The visuals are tense and unsettling, soaked in suppressed rage and fear.
From Silence to Resistance
Unlike the first film, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond marks a decisive shift in tone. This time, the women refuse to remain silent victims. The teaser makes it clear that the girls are no longer willing to bear the consequences quietly. Instead, they choose resistance.
The film’s defining slogan, echoing powerfully through the teaser, is: “Ab sahenge nahi… ladenge!” (We will not tolerate this anymore. We will fight). Another line reinforces the urgency of their resolve: “Abhi nahi toh kabhi nahi” — underscoring a turning point from endurance to action and empowerment.

Building on a Controversial Legacy
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and co-produced by Aashin A Shah under Sunshine Pictures, the sequel builds on the legacy of The Kerala Story (2023), which sparked intense debate for its portrayal of alleged radicalisation and religious conversion.
Despite legal challenges and criticism, the original film achieved major commercial success and won two National Film Awards for Best Direction and Best Cinematography.
With The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, the makers promise to push boundaries further — beyond comfort, beyond silence, and beyond denial — positioning the film as not just a story of suffering, but one of defiance and fightback.
