‘Stree 2’, ‘Bhediya’ music composer Sachin Sanghvi held for sexual assault charges

Renowned Bollywood singer and composer Sachin Sanghvi, who is part of the famous music duo Sachin–Jigar, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman under the pretext of offering her a role in a music album and marriage.

According to reports by PTI, Sanghvi was taken into custody on Thursday under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police officials stated that the victim, a woman in her 20s, met the composer in February 2024 after he reached out to her via Instagram.

Allegations and Arrest

The woman claimed that after initial conversations on social media, Sanghvi promised her an opportunity to feature in his upcoming music project. They later exchanged numbers, and she alleged that he called her to his studio multiple times. During these meetings, Sanghvi reportedly proposed marriage and sexually assaulted her on several occasions. Following her complaint, the police launched an investigation leading to the composer’s arrest.

Before forming the duo, Sanghvi assisted renowned music director Pritam.
