South Indian actress Priyanka commits suicide in Chennai

Chennai/Bhubaneswar: Famous for her role as Jothika in Tamil daily soap 'Vamsam,' actress Priyanka committed suicide at her residence here today. Her body was recovered hanging from a fan at her home and the Chennai police has also filed a case.

According to sources, there were a few problems related to her family which might have forced her to take this extreme step. Priyanka and her husband Arunbala whom she married three years ago were living separately for last couple of months because of some differences in their family.

Priyanka had acted in several Tamil serials including 'Vamsam' where her role was appreciated by many. 'Vamasam' had Ramya Krishnan in lead and ran from 2013 to 2017.

Many South Indian TV personalities have committed suicide in recent past including Television host and actor Sabarna, television actor Sai Prashanth and Telugu news anchor Radhika Reddy.
