(image) Mumbai: Playback singer Sonu Nigam will judge the Indian version of the music reality show `X Factor`.

The singing talent show has been adapted from the successful international show `The X Factor`. The auditions for the show, which will be aired on Sony Entertainment channel, are going on in several parts of the country.

"My consent to be a judge of `X Factor` is proof enough of my faith in the format, the teams involved and the Channel. Music in India has gone beyond the boundaries of film music. So for all those singers, bands and musicians who are trying to give music a new expression the show will give them a platform to showcase their talent, attitude, passion and commitment," Nigam said.

According to reports, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and music composer Salim Merchant are the other two judges for the show, to be hosted by singer-anchor Aditya Narayan.
