Mumbai: After giving several chartbusters in Hindi, Shekhar Ravjiani of music director duo Vishal-Shekhar, is all set to release his first Marathi song `Saazani` which he has composed and sung.

"I am extremely fond of Marathi music. `Saazani` is an independent song. It is a romantic track...metaphor...it is like a farmer asking for rain to come," Shekar told PTI.

Ravi Jadhav, director of National Award winning films, `Natrang` and `Bal Gandharva` has penned the lyrics for this Marathi track. Shekar has been fond of Marathi music from the very beginning and he always wanted to do a Marathi number. "We had a farmhouse at Nashik and I used to frequently visit there. I have been fond of Marathi music since then. It was just that I was waiting for the right opportunity. It was not that difficult to sing in Marathi," he said.

Incidentally, the money earned from this Marathi track on being downloaded, would go to an NGO called Ma Niketan. "Each time someone downloads the song, the money will be donated to Ma Niketan, an NGO. This NGO gives shelter to abandoned children, especially girls," Shekar said. The digital partner for this Marathi track is Hungama and it would be out online next week.
