Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor, all excited about his upcoming film `Mausam`, says he is happy that two new movies, Imran Khan`s `Mere Brother Ki Dulhan` and Ranbir Kapoor starrer `Rockstar`, are not releasing along with his romantic flick.

`Mausam` is the directorial debut of Shahid`s father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor, who has also written the film, which releases on September 16.

"There was a time when all the three films ? `Mere Brother Ki Dulhan`, `Rockstar` and `Mausam` - were suppose to hit the theatres simultaneously. But I am happy that all these films are not releasing together as it would not have made a good business sense," Shahid told reporters at a promotional event of a company for which is the brand ambassador.

Asked whether there was a competition between the three films, the 30-year-old star promptly said, "There is no competition at all. Not at all."

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, `Rockstar` features Ranbir and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles. The film is slated for release in either November or early 2012.

Debutante director Ali Abbas Zafar`s `Mere Brother Ki Dulhan`, a romantic comedy, stars Imran, Katrina Kaif and Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar in lead roles. Produced by Yash Raj Films, it is slated to hit theatres on September 9.

"I am very curious to see how Ranbir and Imran have fared in their respective films. I hope the audience will enjoy all the three offerings," Shahid said.

`Mausam` will for the first time see Shahid acting opposite his father. The star cast also includes Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Shahid`s step mom Supriya Pathak.

Shahid said, "My father has directed the film so there is no need to say anything more. A father is always a father and he is always right. So whenever and whatever requirement was needed from me I was there. But dad did not require much help."

"It is a film which is very close to my heart. It is a film that we have made as a family together. It is a film where I have given one-and-half years of my life," the actor added.
