The November 2025 re-release of Main Hoon Na proved some films never fade. Theatres ran houseful, with fans demanding extra shows to relive the beloved classic after two decades. Amid the nostalgia, quiet sequel chatter emerged. While many have been hoping to see Shah Rukh Khan reunite with Farah Khan after Happy New Year (2014), a recent report from a news portal unexpectedly sparked speculation by suggesting that Main Hoon Na 2 had entered the scripting phase. However, Farah has now addressed the talk, putting the rumours to rest.

All About Main Hoon Na 2 Buzz
Notably, according to a recent Pinkvilla report, the sequel was imagined as a blend of fun and heartfelt emotion, updated with a new national threat to connect with today’s generation. The buzz suggested Farah’s signature cocktail of humour and action would return, alongside familiar faces played by Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao, Sushmita Sen, and Suniel Shetty.
Adding to the excitement, the report hinted at Shah Rukh Khan taking on a double role - an opportunity to explore contrasting shades of performance. Writer Aakash Kaushik was reportedly attached, and a narration for SRK was said to be planned for mid-2026.
For fans, it sounded almost too good to be true.
Farah Khan Sets the Record Straight
But before speculation could snowball further, Farah stepped in to cool the frenzy. Speaking to ETimes, the filmmaker firmly dismissed the claims and urged fans not to believe in what's being speculated, stating, “Rumour is false”, effectively shutting down the sequel chatter and putting the double-role theories to rest.
For now, Main Hoon Na 2 remains wishful thinking rather than reality.

Meanwhile, nostalgia continued to dominate conversations. During the film’s 21st anniversary in 2025, Zayed Khan fondly remembered playing Lucky/Laxman - Ram’s mischievous younger brother.
In an interaction with Zoom, he reflected on the lessons and warmth he experienced working with Shah Rukh. When asked about a sequel, he smiled and said only “Shah bhai” could confirm anything, adding that a follow-up would be massively anticipated.
