Ravi Kishan Recalls Their Early Days on Fauji
At the Filmfare Awards held in Ahmedabad, Ravi Kishan reminisced about his early days in the industry when he shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in the television series Fauji.
Praising SRK as “one of the finest actors,” Ravi fondly addressed him on stage and said, “Shah Rukh sir, you are such an inspiration.”
He then recalled an incident from their shoot, revealing, “I still remember during the shoot of Fauji, you had a 103-degree fever. Back then, you lived in the Amrit building on Carter Road.”
Turning to the audience, Ravi added, “I’m telling you a story that shows how a man becomes King Khan and why.”
The Fever Didn’t Stop SRK
Ravi went on to describe how, despite being unwell, Shah Rukh continued shooting without complaint.
“That project also had Sridevi ma’am, who too was down with fever and had to rest at home. But Shah Rukh came to the set despite his illness, watched every shot, and performed his action sequences with full energy. His passion then was unmatched and it still is,” he said.
He added, “We were all tall and energetic boys- Ronik, Sudesh Beri, Monish Bahl, Harish, and I- and we often wondered what Shah Rukh would do among us. But when we saw his discipline and dedication, we understood what true passion looks like. That’s when we realised why he became Shah Rukh Khan.”
Calling SRK a man of humility, Ravi said, “Shah Rukh doesn’t let praise reach him, and that humility is what makes him King Khan.”
Ravi Kishan’s Emotional Filmfare Moment
Ravi Kishan, who has acted in over 750 films, also reflected on his emotional moment at the Filmfare Awards. “I didn’t attend the event for 33 years. I promised myself that the day my name gets nominated, I will go. Today, that day has come,” he said, visibly moved.
