She wrote that she felt compelled to express her emotions immediately, fearing she might lose even “a fraction” of what the film made her feel. Calling Haq “deeply human,” “layered,” and “free of judgment or bias,” Samantha highlighted how rare such stories are in cinema today.
She reserved special praise for Yami Gautam, describing her as an actor of exceptional calibre who brings the story alive with sensitivity and restraint. Samantha’s words struck a chord with fans, further amplifying the conversation around the film’s powerful narrative.

Sharing a detailed note on Instagram, Karan admitted regretting not watching the film in theatres and said the story of Shazia Bano left him in tears. He described Yami’s performance as “pathbreaking” and a masterclass in restraint and conviction.
Karan also praised Emraan Hashmi, calling Haq the finest performance of his career, and applauded Suparn Verma’s assured direction and the film’s emotionally driven storytelling.
