Nashik: Singer Shankar Mahadevan entertained music fans with his foot tapping songs at the ongoing Nashik Festival. The concert was held on the banks of river Godavari under `fusion` musical night and despite severe cold, a large number of people thronged the venue on Wednesday night.

The programme also saw `jugal bandi` between U Shrinivas (mandolin), Luis Backs (key board), Jino Backs (drum and percussions), Shridhar Parthsarathi (mrudung) and Sheldon Desilva (guitar).

Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, his nephew and NCP Member of Parliament from Nashik Sameer Bhujbal, among others, attended the programme. The festival, sponsored by Indiabulls and organised by Bhujbal Foundation, is in its third year.

Drawing, bhajan singing, wrestling, kabaddi and Bhavgeet competitions are being held as part of the festival which began on January 8 and will conclude on January 15.
