Rocketary: The Nambi Effect | When Madhavan Met PM Modi Along With ISRO Scientist

Mumbai: Actor R Madhavan on Monday shared a picture on social media from his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Also present at the meeting was S. Narayan Nambi, scientist and aerospace engineer at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on whose life Madhavan’s debut directorial feature, “Rocketary: The Nambi Effect”, is based.

The picture shows them seated in a boardroom, observing social distancing.

“A few weeks ago, @NambiNOfficial and I had the honour of calling on PM @narendramodi. We spoke on the upcoming film #Rocketrythefilm and were touched and honored by PM’s reaction to the clips and concern for Nambi ji & the wrong done to him. Thank you for the privilege sir,” Madhavan wrote as caption.

Meanwhile, the Centre on Monday requested the Supreme Court to open the sealed cover report of a panel headed by former top court judge D.K. Jain, formed in September 2018 by the court to probe the role of Kerala police officers in the wrongful arrest of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in a 1994 espionage case.

Solicitor general Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, requested the top court to take up the report for passing appropriate orders on Tuesday. Mehta submitted that the matter is of national importance.
