Rituparna Sengupta Case: Theft accused arrested from Bhubaneswar city hotel

Bhubaneswar: The Special Squad of Odisha police today arrested a man from a city hotel on charges of stealing money and valuables from renowned Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta’s Lake Gardens house in Kolkata.

The accused identified as Bodhisatwa Bhattacharya has been handed over to Kolkata Police. The Sub-Inspector of Lake police station would produce Bhattacharya in the court and subsequently he will be taken on a transit remand, police sources said.

As per reports, the actress had lodged a complaint with the police four months back alleging theft of cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh, a laptop and other valuables from her house four months back.

She had further alleged that Bhattacharya was demanding Rs 5 lakh from Sengupta to return her laptop and other valuables.
