Mumbai: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has planned a film based on the sensational murder involving actress Maria Susairaj case, who along with her boyfriend killed her former lover before disposing off his body.
`Dev D` actress Mahie Gill has been signed to play the role inspired by Maria in the film titled `A Love Story`. The rest of the cast is being finalised.
"Based on the sensational murder trial of Maria Susairaj, my film `A Love Story` will attempt to cinematically recreate the terrifying happening," Varma said.
"Thinking that it is the most brutally horrifying murder story I have ever heard in my life I went into the details of the case talking to various concerned such as their friends, relatives, investigators, lawyers, and to my shock I found that underneath this most heinous crime that ever happened in the entire crime history of Mumbai, there is actually an incredible love story," he said.
