Ranbir Kapoor has proved repeatedly that he is a highly versatile actor who can play any role to perfection. Be it a violent and exploring role in “Rockstar” to portraying Sanjay Dutt in his biopic “Sanju” the “Tamasha” actor gives his 100% to his craft. Except “Sanju,” “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” and “Rockstar” most of his movies failed to rock the box-office. However, he has been appreciated in whatever role he played including “Barfi” or his debut flick “Saawariyaan.”
With the competition among the superstars in Bollywood getting tough, the stars of today are ready to undergo whatever transformation required for looking the part of a character. Almost a few months ago Ranveer Singh was seen in the look of Kapil Dev as he was shooting a biopic titled “83” based on the life of the legendary cricketer. And now his look has undergone a massive change as he is playing a Gujju in “Jayeshbhai Jordaar.” And the same goes for Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir’s Transformation For Shamshera
The scion of Kapoor family recently wrapped shooting for his upcoming flick “Brahmastra” which is directed by Ayan Mukherjee. For the character of Rumi in this film, Ranbir Kapoor was given a hair cut with long hair touching his shoulders. From the usual muscles and strength that Ranbir portrays in real life, he had to become a lot leaner to look the part. Incidentally, Ranbir had to bulk up for his role in “Sanju” and later on had to shed weight to look leaner.

Apart from changing his diet, Ranbir Kapoor also worked out rigorously to get his look right for “Brahmastra.” For Shamshera Ranbir is to don a rustic avatar with a beard in traditional wear of dhoti and vest. Ranbir looks mighty and strong in “Shamshera” whereas in “Brahmastra” he looks lean, fit and a curious youngster.
The efforts the stars of today take to bring any character alive on the big screen are quite commendable. The transformation of Ranbir Kapoor from bulky “Sanju,” lean Rumi in “Brahmastra” and strong and muscled “Shamshera” is unbelievable.
