Hyderabad: Clash of Titans! Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar, the megastars of South Indian film industry, are all set to clash early next year when the entire south will be in a festive mood.
Yes, Ajith Kumar's ‘Viswasam’ and Rajinikanth's 'Petta' will be hitting the theaters during Pongal- while 'Petta' will be released on January 11, and ‘Viswasam’ will hit the silver screens on January 14.
Fans of both the actors are eagerly waiting for the movies of their stars and expect blockbuster.
‘Viswasam’ will be Ajith Kumar's 9th Pongal release. While rumours are there that Ajith might be seen playing dual roles in the movie, director of the movie Siva has refuted the rumours.
The Siva-Ajith combination will the fourth one after movies like Veeram, Vedhalam and Vivegam. Moreover, Nayanthara is playing the female lead in the movie. It will be the South Queen’s fourth movie with Ajith, after Billa, Aegean and Arambam.
On the other hand, 'Petta' is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran.
Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M Sasikumar and Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen sharing screen space with Rajinikanth in the movie.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see who will win the battle but most importantly fans want both the films to break all box office records.
