Mumbai: American talk show host Oprah Winfrey on Tuesday visited a slum here in Colaba in south Mumbai as part of research for her new show `Oprah`s Next Chapter`.

"For my new show `Oprah`s Next Chapter` I am doing a story on India and I wanted to see all aspects of the country to get a broad view of what it is like to be an Indian. It is very revealing and very amazing to me so I met people from Bollywood and others," she told reporters here.

"What I love most about this country is their tolerance..how the families learn to love and live together. When I was in America and talking to famous people...I would ask how you (Indians) live with your parents, now I see how you do it," she said. "I am not just doing one story I am doing five hours on India," she added.

Oprah came to Mumbai on Monday and has been stationed at the famous Taj Mahal hotel in Colaba. Monday night she had attended a star-studded party hosted by socialite Parmeshwar Godrej at her residence. The 57-year-old wore an orange colour saree designed by Tarun Tahiliani for the party on Monday night. She said she would soon wear an outfit designed by popular designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Oprah is in India for `Next Chapter` a new series of her famous talk show `The Oprah Winfrey Show` in which, she would travel around the world interviewing celebrities, news-makers and others. "I would be interviewing Dr Deepak Chopra. I have never seen India before. I actually came to meet Chopra who is a friend," Oprah said. She would be interviewing writer Chopra on January 21. Asked to sum up her visit to the city, she said, "Its just been a day."

Oprah would attend the Jaipur Literature Festival to be held from January 20-24. She is also expected to shoot a portion of her show at the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. She would be flying back to the US on January 22.
