Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is going to host the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, says he does not like taking personal digs at industry friends and colleagues.

Shahid had earlier hosted Filmfare awards alongwith Shahrukh Khan. IIFA awards would be held in Singapore, from June 7 to 9.

"I think it is possible to entertain and make people laugh without taking digs or getting personal. I think people get very personal ...I don`t like that part of hosting," Shahid told reporters here.

"Just because the mike is in your hand...it does not mean you can say anything. It is important to entertain people, crack jokes, but not in that way."

The IIFA awards were earlier hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani.

"Riteish and Boman did a good job. Like even Ranbir and Imran were funny while hosting Filmfare awards. Everyone has their own way to entertain and I have my own," Shahid said.
