Nihar Samal of Odisha bags Bhansali’s dream project

Bhubaneswar: Odia sound designer Nihar Ranjan Samal, who has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood after doing some big-ticket movies like ‘3 Iditos’, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, ‘Madras Café’ and most recently Aamir Khan-starrer ‘PK’, has got another big project – famous Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

The project is often touted as the dream project of Bhansali. Bollywood heartthrobs Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are tipped to play lead characters in the movie.

“It is my first project with Bhansali and I am looking forward to give my best, as he is known for not compromising on quality when it comes to film-making,” said the National Award-winning sound designer.

Hailing from Jajpur district in Odisha, the most-sought after technician has worked on all kinds of movies – short films, documentaries, Indie films and mainstream Bollywood movies as well.

He also worked for Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha-starrer ‘Tevar’, which will hit the screens on January 9.

“I did an Odia flick called ‘Prema Rutu Asilare’, but as of now I am focusing on Hindi movies,” signs off Samal.
