With Odia movie DAMaN emerging as a crowd-puller and receiving a massive response from movie lovers, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday declared the movie tax-free in State.
DAMaN is based on the Odisha government’s Malaria prevention programme in tribal-based Malkangiri. DAMaN stands for Durgama Anchala re Malaria Nirakarana. The movie brings in the efforts of a young doctor who set a bright example of humanity during his service onto the large canvas.
CM Patnaik has exuded confidence that the movie will inspire the Health Department and stream positivity and strengthen government employees to work towards public interest and welfare.
Patnaik also stated that all departments under the Odisha government should work cooperatively just like during the pandemic. Being united, efforts for public interest and welfare will bring stupendous results which will help to ensure a healthy and hygienic environment across the state.
The movie starring Ollywood actors Babushaan and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra in the lead roles received a tremendous response from the audience and has been roaring at the box office.
The biographical social drama written and directed by Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya is bankrolled by Deependra Samal.
After setting the bar high, now, DAMaN will be released in Hindi language which is another remarkable feat for the Ollywood industry. Actor Babushaan jetted off to Mumbai last week. As reported earlier, the makers have planned to release the movie in 400-500 theatres pan-India.
This certainly comes as good news for all Odia movie lovers and the makers as the regional movies have been tasting failure from quite some time now.
