Actor Mukesh Khanna, best known for shows Shaktimaan and Mahabharat, has come under the fire after his controversial remark on the #MeToo movement. His statement that the problem began when women started thinking they are at par with men and the duty of women is to take care of the household has sparked outrage on social media.

A video of the actor’s interview has gone viral where he says, “The problem of #MeToo began when women started working.” In the interview, given to The Filmy Charcha, the actor says, “Aurat ka kaam hai ghar sambhalna, jo maaf karna mein kabhi kabhi bol bhi jata hu. Problem kaha se shuru hui hai #MeToo ki jab aurato ne bhi kaam karna shuru kar diya. Aaj aurat mard ke saath kandhe se kandha milane ki baat karti hai.”
