Here are some of the actresses who were famous face on the big screen once upon a time but are away from the limelight.
Asin Thottumkal
Within a short span of time, Asin became one of the most loved faces of the Southern industry. Her popularity shot to peak with Ghajini (Tamil) so much that she was even robbed in for the Hindi version opposite Aamir Khan. She was then in big hits like Salman Khan’s ready and Houseful. However, after tying a knot and embracing motherhood, she bid farewell to acting in 2015.
Shriya Saran
There is hardly any movie buff who doesn’t know the Southern siren, Shriya Saran. One of the most famous heroines of the ’20s, she made her entry into Tamil cinema with the movie “Ennaku 20 Unakku 18”. Shriya has worked with almost every superstar from Rajinikanth to Nagarjuna, her last being Drishyam with Ajay Devgn. However, the actress lost her potential due to the constant fluctuation in languages with her choice of films.
Namrata Shirodkar
From Vaastav to Pukar, Namrata has a number of Bollywood hits to her name. However, when she fell in love with Mahesh Babu during her first Telegu film Vamsi, things changes. The actress left the big screen when she was at the peak of her career and tied the knot with the Telegu superstar.
Charmy Kaur
With more than 50 films in the South and Bollywood, Charmi was a popular choice for every role. With her bubbly looks and mesmerizing dance skills, Charmi remained a sensation for a long time however, the yesteryear diva slowly stepped back from the limelight as an actor. However, she is very much a part of the showbiz business as a producer, her latest outing being Liger starring Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda.
Bhoomika Chawla
Like Shriya Saran, Bhoomika was a pretty big name in the Telugu film scene before she made her smash hit debut in Bollywood opposite Salman Khan in 'Tere Naam', and soon after, she shifted to southern cinema permanently. But apart from occasional films, the actress seemed to have slowly moved out of the screen and mostly won’t be seen on the screens by the audience anymore.
