Bhubaneswar: Known for his philanthropic activities during the COVID-19 induced locked, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is again back in action and has come up with a unique initiative.
As per reports, the actor will now extend help to kickstart small businesses across the country by offering free e-rickshaws. The vehicles will gifted to those who have lost their livelihood during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sonu Sood took to the social media to announce his latest initiative which has been welcomed by his fans on the internet. Earlier, the 'Dabaang' actor had launched the Pravasi Rojgar app that created more than 50,000 job opportunities for those who lost their job due to Covid pandemic.
On his Twitter account, Sonu Sood wrote, “A small step today, for a big leap tomorrow. By providing free e-rickshaws that can be used to kickstart small businesses, My effort to empower people to become self-reliant.”
Sonu Sood’s initiative of providing free e-rickshaws titled ‘Khud Kamaao Ghar Chalaao’ is expected to bring smiles on the faces of those people who are struggling to get terms with the life during the situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, Sonu Sood had helped around 170 girls from Odisha to return home after they were stranded in Kerala during the Coronavirus lockdown.
After coming to know about the stranded girls, Sood had immediately arranged a special aircraft to facilitate their safe return. The girls, most of whom hail from Kendrapara, were engaged as stitching and embroidery workers at a local textile factory in Kerala.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, BJP Vice-President Baijayant Panda and several others had expressed their gratitude to Sonu Sood for his selfless act.
