Kolkata: The Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone-starrer period film "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey" might have bombed at the box office but it will soon be a part of the prestigious Oscar library.

The library of the Academy of Motion Picture and Science has asked for the screenplay of the film for their permanent core collection which is made for film makers, writers, actors and students worldwide for their research work, the producers said in a statement.

Made by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film was based on the Chittagong uprising of 1930, as depicted in journalist Manini Chatterjee`s book `Do&Die`.

The selection by the library is not based on box-office performance of the film but mainly on its artistic merits, original screenplay with a substance and the film as a whole.

Recently, screenplays of Bollywood films like "Rock On!!", "Rajneeti" and "Action Replayy" have made it to the Oscar library.
