Putting an end to speculations among fans and moviegoers, Hombale Films finally released KGF Chapter 2 teaser on Thursday night. Within hours following the release the total views crossed millions and the teaser garnered millions of likes, which so far stands over 55 million. Apart from being the much awaited teaser, glimpses of the major characters like Rocky Bhai, portrayed by Yash, Adheera played by Sanjay Dutt and Ramika Sen by Raveena Tandon in the small video clip gave goose bumps.
Though Adheera seems to be more powerful and destructive as his image has been portrayed, fans certainly can't forget Garuda from KGF Chapter 1. Ramachandra Raju portrayed the lead antagonist in the first installment and undoubtedly justified his character- Garuda. The fierce and wicked Garuda's faceoff with Yash at the end of the thriller still makes movie watchers hold their breath. Garuda, the elder son of KGF gold mafia-head Suryavardhan and the person controlling the operations at the goldfields, was fierce and played the part to perfection. Finally, Rocky Bhai slays off his head and establishes his power in the empire of goldfields.
Ram's performance in the first installment earned him accolades. Soon, he became a popular face in the South and started getting offers for several other films in the South. These include Karthi's upcoming film Sultan, a movie starring Jayam Ravi, Arjun Sarja, and also a Telugu flick.
But, did you know, 'Garuda' used to work as a bodyguard to Yash before he stepped into the glamour world?
Yes, Ramachandra alias Ram or famous as Garuda of KGF Chapter 1 was actually not an actor but a close associate of the Rocking Star Yash. Yash and Ram know each other since many years and even talked about working together, which finally happened with KGF.
Director Prashant Neel spotted Ram while he was discussing about the script of KGF Chapter1 with Yash. He then proposed him to audition for the role of Garuda. Ram participated in workshops for about a year. He put in huge efforts to get into the shoes of Garuda and finally got the perfect body shape for the faceoff with Yash in the high-end action movie. The director got impressed for his dedication and hard work and signed him for the film.
Earlier in an interview, Ram said, "I was thrilled to be a part of KGF 1. I did not expect the film and my role to be so powerful. It was only when the film released that I became aware of its success...that was when it hit me that KGF was indeed a megaproject."
KGF Chapter 1 that released in 2018 broke several records and became a huge commercial success.. It became the first Kannada movie to earn more than Rs 250 crores and became the fourth highest-grossing Hindi dubbed movie. Cinematography, action, art direction and several other aspects of the movie were commendable. Yash garnered international recognition and secured a loyal fan base across the country after this film and so did Garuda.
The second installment of KGF franchise is likely to show the rise of Rocky Bhai and his faceoff with actor Sanjay Dutt as Adheera, brother of Suryavardhan. Comparing his character to Thanos from Avengers, Sanjay Dutt said, "Adheera's character is very powerful. If you have seen Avengers, you would know Thanos. So Adheera is like him. He is a very dangerous character with a dangerous get-up. And that's the zone I was looking for."
Glimpse of KGF Chapter 2 in the teaser left fans awestruck. The teaser was set to release on January 8 (Friday) at 10:18 AM on Yash's birthday. However, the makers decided to release on January 7 at 9: 29 PM and it was a surprise. If sources are to be believed, the teaser was leaked on different social media platforms and the post trended on Twitter with #Leaked. It was then when the makers decided to release the much awaited teaser. Though fans of Yash were hurt a bit, the excitement level didn't lessen anyways.
