Since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, fans have repeatedly slammed Karan Johar for isolating SSR. From actress Kangana Ranaut to leading news channels all alleged that the boss of Dharma Productions promoted nepotism. And that was one reason that led Sushant to commit suicide.
However, a throwback video that surfaced recently reveals an entirely different picture. It is a clip from the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9. Karan Johar was a judge on this dance reality show and Sushant was a guest. Incidentally, the Kedarnath actor had come on the show to promote his movie MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which was due for release.
Along with Karan Johar, the famous dancer and choreographer Ganesh Hegde and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernadez also were a part of the team of judges.
Karan Johar Is All Praises For Sushant Singh Rajput's Growth
In the clip, Karan Johar says, "Aaj Ke jo mehman hai inke safar ke baare mein baat karna bahut jarori hai. When I came on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa aur jab pehali baar mein iss stage pe baitha, aur Madhuri mere samne thi. She said Karan you know you missed a season. You did not judge the last season. So I asked, last season mein kounsi baadi baat thi?"
Karan continues "She said ki Sushant Singh Rajput ke jo performances the they were outstanding. He got 10 on 10 for every single performance. Right up to the finale. Toh jab mein Sushant ko as a movie star dekhta hoon, nation charcha kar raha hai Dhoni movie ke baare mein. Mein ek garva mehasoos kar raha hoon."
Then he looks at the contestants of Season 9 and says, "All of you are such hardworking contestants. And Sushant issi tarah se wahan sofa pe baitha karta tha. Mann me sapne aur bahot saare icchaon aur ashaon ke saath. Aur aaj he has achieved what he has. It feels great man! Welcome to the show."
The way Karan Johar spoke about Sushant Singh Rajput on that show touched many hearts at that time. Sushant appeared as a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 4 and was the first runner up.
